Space Force

"What Is Space Force?" - An actual part of the US military. The United States Space Force (USSF) was created in December, 2019.

"The USSF is responsible for organizing, training, and equipping Guardians to conduct global space operations that enhance the way our joint and coalition forces fight, while also offering decision makers military options to achieve national objectives.."

Space Force only operated in space near the Earth.

Star Force

Star Force protects civilization in certain galaxies from invasion by "Rogue Civilizaions". They operate using Starships, which are equiped with several types of populsions system that allow rapid travel to and within galaxies. They have two offensive weapons, Photon Torpedos and a Neutron Phaser.

"What is Star Force?"

Star Force is the logical extension of Space Force as it encoumpass all space, not just that near Earth.

The basics of Star Force is for a "Starship" Flag Officer volunteering for missions to various galaxys to protect peaceful civilization from being attacked by rogue civilizations. Two classic Rogue Civilizations are the Cardassians and Romulians. Their only purpose is to subject other civilization to their rule and to use that civilization's wealth as their own, e.g. minerals. Most conquered civilations are enslaved.

The Romulians and Cardassians have joined forces and are sweeping through other galaxys leaving death and destruction behind.

"How Is Star Force Played?"

Star Force is a "step-by-step" game. You move or do something, e.g. fire your weapons, and reactions will result. But, no other action takes place until you move or do something again. For example, if you, as the Captain of a Starship, move to a new position, be it close or far away from your current position, you can be fired upon by the Rogue Joint forces in that quadrant of that galaxy.

You can learn how to play Star Force by going to the Video Reference Library and viewing short videos, 3 minutes of less!

A Starsip is controlled by the Flag Officer, of various ranks, using the ship's console's command buttons, which are just below the Starship's viewing screen. Four exterior views can be seen, Bow, Stern, Port, and Starboard. These views contribute nothing to the game.

All game actions take place on the viewing screen.

"What Is the Playing Field?"

All missions take place in a galaxy which is made up of quadrants. A galaxy is a square of 100 quadrants by 100 quadrants, i.e. 10,000 individual "fields" of possible combat. Each quadrant can have, but not necessary, Planets, Sun, Stars, Rogue Starships. Some quadrants will have a Star Force Base Station where your Starship can get resupplied and repaired. Any new tools or computer programs that enhance your Starship fighing abilities will be upgraded at any time.

Your Starship has the newest scanning capiblities, i.e. they can "see" a quadrant in a resolution of 9,800 by 7,200 points in space which is more than enough to identify any object. This is the "Short Range Scanner".

A Long Range Scanner can detect objects within two neighboring quadrants, i.e. your Starship is at the middle of 5 X 3 quadrant rectangle. The number of Romulain and Cardasssian Starship is displayed as is a Star Force Base Station.

Command Buttons

21 Command Buttons control all aspects of the Starship from moving in space, firing weapons, scanning space around the starship to see "what is out there", and what is the starship operational status.

Note the "Mute Button", on the right. Almost every screen shown in Star Force will have background music or sounds. You can turn On/Off the background music/sound by clicking this button. You can also control the volume of your speakers.

The best way to explain the command button functions is by watching short videos on the various Command Buttons, e.g. Moving Your Star Ship, Firing Photon Torpedos, scanning surounding space. These videos are available if there is a link to that video below, i.e. Blue Letters Underlined.

NOTE: I made extensive revisions to my Star Force program in 2022 when I was 90 years old!

As a Flag Officer of Star Force you can accept a mission to remove enemy Star Ships from various quadrants in your assigned galaxy. The enemy may be attacking planets protected by the Star Force or they may even attack a Star Force Base. The enemy are the combined forces of the Romulians and Cardassians Federations, a very formidable enemy.

Be advised that in the vast majority of enemy encounters you could be outnumber 10:1 or more. However, your Star Ship, the Farragut, cabilities exceeds those of the Romulians and Cardassians, mainly due to the crews ability to make repairs after an encounter and constant updates to your Starship.
